Luteal Phase Defect

I was 29 when I first started going to Nurture Acupuncture and I had been trying to have a baby for the past 3 years. I was diagnosed last year with Luteal phase defect and was told that I would have trouble maintaining a healthy pregnancy. I decided to try acupuncture and herbs to see if I could change the outcome. Premature Ovarian Failure

My journey with Nurture Acupuncture began when I was 37. I was trying to have a baby for at least 1 year with my new husband and was very unsuccessful. I was diagnosed by my RE as having premature ovarian failure and elevated FSH levels. I was devastated and a friend of mine told me that acupuncture might be able to help. I was very concerned because I hate needles and I am very skeptical about non-western medicine. I made the call finally and I have been going to the clinic for about 7 months now and my FSH is now at 10. I originally started with an FSH of 27 and my RE is very impressed that this number has dropped so significantly.

Elevated FSH

I just turned 40 in October and I am the very blessed mother of a beautiful boy who just turned 7 months old. My infertility journey began at the age of 37 when I was hit with the dreaded high FSH diagnosis much to my surprise, and given little hope of ever conceiving with my own eggs or carrying to term. Endometriosis

Hi. I am a 32 year old woman with severe endometriosis and I have severe episodes of pain that ensures each month as I ovulate. I have been through many drug therapies and many laproscopies to correct the abnormal growth and pain. A few months after I started doing acupuncture, I no longer experience the severe pain and I am able to lead a normal life. I am still working on my fertility with Nurture Acupuncture and I hope to conceive a child in the new few months.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

A year ago I was diagnosed with PCOS and I was told that I might not be able to conceive. My fertility doctor recommended a drug protocol and some acupuncture to see if I could in fact start ovulating again. My menstrual cycles were extremely irregular and sometimes over 100 days apart. Nurture Acupuncture recommended that I start doing weekly Reproductive Organ Massage to increase blood flow to my ovaries and uterus. After a few months on massage and herbs, I started menstruating about every 32 days. I am thrilled to let you know that I am currently pregnant with my first child and I am having a very healthy pregnancy. I can not imagine going without my weekly treatments since I feel so relaxed!

Recurrent Miscarriage

After 3 consecutive miscarriages that occur about the 12th week of pregnancy, my doctor suggested I try acupuncture. I was referred to Nurture Acupuncture by a friend who had been going there for about 6 months. I met with the staff and decided to give it a try. I was now about 6 weeks pregnant and very concerned that I would in fact miscarry again because my medical doctors had thought that I had immune issues and bad egg quality. I was given herbs to help prevent the miscarriage and some dietary guidelines on what to eat and what not to eat. I looked forward to my relaxing sessions and I have just delivered a very healthy 9 lbs baby boy.

Male Infertility

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 4 years now and recently he has been diagnosed with poor sperm quality and morphology. After reading several articles on the internet regarding Chinese medicine and fertility enhancement, I decided to ask my doctor for a referral to an acupuncturist. I met with Nurture Acupuncture with my husband and we both decided to start treatments. We were told to get a baseline estimate on my husband’s sperm and that it would take approximately 90 days to make some improvement in his sperm count etc. After the 90 days, we went back and re-tested and are very happy to say that things improved dramatically.

Morning Sickness

I want to thank Nurture Acupuncture for being able to help with my severe morning sickness. It started in the first trimester around week 8 and I was unable to eat and was hospitalized for severe dehydration. I contacted Judy at Nurture and she gave me acupuncture the first day. Gestational Diabetes

My first pregnancy occurred when I was 35 and I was so excited until I was told I had Gestational Diabetes and would need to take insulin for my pregnancy. I contacted Nurture Acupuncture and they helped me with nutritional guidance, dietary supplements, and gave me some herbs and acupuncture to control my glucose levels. My fasting glucose went from extremely high to back into the normal range and I was able to discontinue taking the insulin. Breech

Hi. My name is Jane and I was pregnant with my second baby and was told my baby was breech and that I would have to have a C-Section if the baby did not turn. I contacted Nurture Acupuncture and was given a treatment by Dr. Lu. He gave me acupuncture and something called moxibustion that I was to do at home. After 2 treatments, I went back to my OB and the baby had turned completely. I was worried the baby would turn back and I loved my treatments so much that I continued to see Dr. Lu for general pregnancy low back pain and fatigue. My baby is healthy and happy and so am I that I didn’t need a C-Section.

Labor Induction

I was 39 weeks when my friend told me to go see Nurture Acupuncture and have them help with my overdue baby. My doctor keep saying if I did not dilate by week 40, then I would be scheduled for a C-Section. I did not want to have a C-Section for my first child and I had read all the horror stories associated to having one. I met with Judy at Nurture and she gave me my first acupuncture treatment and during the treatment, I started having contractions. I went to the doctor the following day and I was already dilated to a 3. I went back one more time for a treatment and started going into labor when I left the Nurture office. I had my baby 6 hours later and did not need a C-Section. I have referred many friends to this office for care.

Pre-Eclampsia

This was my second pregnancy and no issues in my first pregnancy. At 35 weeks, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure or pre-eclampsia. My doctor gave me a special diet and wanted to put me on blood pressure medication. I decided I would try acupuncture and see if they could control my swelling and blood pressure with herbs and acupuncture instead of medications. I worked with Dr. Shyu and he gave me herbs and acupuncture twice weekly. I went back to my doctor appointment one week later and the doctor was surprised how my condition had changed. He assumed it was the medication he prescribed and I didn’t have the courage to tell him that I did not take it and instead did acupuncture and herbs. I thank Dr. Shyu and the Nurture staff tremendously for helping me have a safe and medication free pregnancy.

Fibroid

I was diagnosed with large fibroids when I was trying to conceive my first child. The doctor told me that I was not conceiving due to the location and size of the fibroid. I was extremely scared and then the doctor told me I would have to have surgery and there would be no guarantees that I could conceive anyway. I decided to seek a second opinion and consider some alternative treatments before embarking on surgery. My friend had been to Nurture Acupuncture for fertility treatments so I decided to call them and see what they thought based on my ultrasounds and information I had from my doctor. Dr. Judy met with me and told me some diet changes I could make, prescribed some herbs, gave me acupuncture and abdominal massage, and had me do some Castor Oil packs on the area of the fibroids. After 1 month, I went back to my doctor and my fibroid has significantly shrunk. The doctor still thought I would need fertility medications and surgery in order to conceive and I decided to continue with the alternative treatments. I conceived two months later without any medications and had a very nice pregnancy and delivery. No complications and I owe that all to the staff at Nurture and Dr. Judy.
