Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the oldest professionally and continually practiced medicine in the world. It originated in China over 2,500 years ago and is still widely used today by millions of people throughout the world. It aims to identify and treat the underlying cause of the disorder and re-balance the body as a whole, ultimately eradicating pain and illness and promoting optimal health. TCM uses acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, massage, exercise therapy, and nutritional guidelines to treat and cure nearly every modern day illness. Contact us to see how we can help you.

Acupuncture

AcupunctureOver five thousand years ago, the Chinese discovered the complex relationship between stimulating a point on the skin to influence a particular organ or organ pathway. Acupuncture uses thin sterile disposable needles that are inserted into acupuncture points to cause an effect in the body. In Acupuncture, the practitioner treats not just the symptoms but the whole person – body, mind and spirit. There is typically little to no pain associated with the acupuncture needles; it feels more like a pin-prick. In fact, most of our patients become so relaxed from the treatment that they often fall asleep during their session, and leave feeling calm and rested.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese Herbal MedicineThere are over 470 single Chinese herbs and more than 400 herb formulations currently used by most Chinese medicine practitioners. They are quality tested for bacteria, metals, or fungus, and can be used safely under the guidance of a trained herbalist. Chinese herbs build strong, nutrient-rich blood for the ovaries to better nourish the developing follicles and create stronger egg quality and ultimately stronger embryos.

Reproductive Organ Massage

Reproductive Organ MassageReproductive Organ Massage (ROM) is, quite literally, a massage of your abdominal organs, usually done by a certified acupressurist or acupuncturist. ROM manipulates the spleen, stomach, liver, kidneys, lungs, and heart. The goal of the massage is to cleanse, balance, and relax a woman’s body, making it an ideal environment for conception.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy MassagePregnancy is a beautiful and exciting time in a woman’s life, but sometimes this transformation can cause discomfort, stress, and depletion of a woman’s body and energy. As the baby grows it can begin to demand more energy and blood than the mother can produce. When this condition occurs, various symptoms can arise, such as lower back strain, swelling or water retention, and digestive upset. If this deficient condition is left unchecked it can even lead to prolonged or delayed labor. Through massage, the muscles can be relaxed to allow the blood to move more freely and efficiently, which leads to better circulation, decreased swelling, and increased energy.

Nutritional Guidance

Nutritional GuidanceIn order to get the most benefit out of acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicine, the importance of a proper diet and lifestyle is imperative. The idea that food is medicine is deeply rooted in Chinese culture as well as many other cultures around the world. In fact, the practitioner will not only look at the nutritional components of the food itself, but also at its temperature, taste, color, shape, and texture to determine whether the food is correct for that individual’s constitution and condition.

Preventive Medicine & Diagnostic Testing

Preventive Medicine & Diagnostic TestingTo better diagnose your condition and illness, we can perform non-invasive diagnostic tests by obtaining and examining samples of your saliva, blood, and hair. From these samples, we can assess female and male hormone levels, adrenal stress index, any deficiency or excess in mineral and vitamin concentrations, as well as possible toxic metals that are present in the body.
